SHIVER ME TIMBERS!!! Treasures await ye in Adventureland at Walt Disney World. A Pirate’s Adventure Treasures of the Seven Seas is fun activity you can do at your own pace or time frame. Do as much or as little of the missions as you choose to do! Did I mention it was free! No shelling out any doubloons for this interactive (and very fun) treasure hunt for one and all! In all you get entertainment, adventure, memories, and even get to keep the maps as free souvenirs. Grab some mateys and enjoy!
We decided to start our Pirate’s Adventure after a few rides in Adventureland. My son was 8 when we did this adventure. I followed along and helped to read the map. Start A Pirate’s Adventure Treasures of the Seven Seas at a small building called The Crow’s Nest, which is located not too far from Pirates of the Caribbean ride (on the map below it is marked as “Entitlement Quests”). There was no line on the day that we went, so we were able to walk right in after some simple instructions from the Cast Member. To begin, he was told to scan his MagicBand on the screen. The screen chooses your first pirate treasure map and mission. The map below is an example of one of the maps that you receive.
There are in total 5 different pirate maps, and on each map there is 3-6 missions you are sent on that you will utilize your talisman (MagicBand or Admission Card).
So we ventured off to find the first symbol from the map. We were led to places just within Adventureland, so there was minimal walking all in all. Be sure to look at the buildings on the map, the pictures of the props, as well as the arrow pointing to its location. There were props along the sides of the walkways, some down some alleys, some in shops, and even beside some attractions. When you find the prop you are looking for, rub the MagicBand on the prop and watch in delight as the different interactive experiences “come alive.” Listen closely to hear instructions and it will display the symbol for your next clue.
Once you have completed a treasure map, you are told to return to gather another map to carry on your adventure. So we returned to the Crow’s Nest and received another treasure map. There is no time limit for any part of the adventure and you can do it any and all days that you are inside the Magic Kingdom. So rest assured that if you have a FastPass+ or dining reservation, feel free to venture off and come back to continue your quest.
But beware land-lubber, in order to receive the handsome booty you must complete all 5 treasure maps during the same day to receive the handsome reward.
Me hearties, if you have a pirate lover in your family, visitors of all ages can add to the Pirates Adventure by becoming a pirate (or mermaid) at The Pirate’s League (reservations are highly recommended for A Pirate’s League but not needed for A Pirate’s Adventure – Treasures of the Seven Seas).
