One of my favorite things to do at Walt Disney World is to meet the characters. But, sometimes, meeting their favorite princess or the main mouse himself is a little scary. So, lets talk about getting your little ones ready to make some memories. Before you leave home, start to talk about meeting characters. Show them photos, or videos to introduce them to chapters that they may not know.
When you make it to you meeting, introduce your little one to the character. Everyone gets that children can be shy, and will try to help them be more at ease. Meeting Snow White was Luke’s first experience, and he was a little hesitant at first. She was able to make him feel comfortable and enjoy the experience. Oh, and he feel in love. He showed everyone for hours the “kiss” that she left on his cheek.
You can use an autograph book as an icebreaker. Let you child hand the character the book and pen and ask them to sign. You can make your own or pick one up in the gift shop at your resort. Have your camera ready to go! You never know when the perfect picture opportunity will present itself. The Memory Maker photographer will scan your Magic Band, but will also take photos with you camera if you ask. That way you can share photos now!
Get in the photos yourself. Let you child see you enjoying meeting Mickey or Mr. Smee. Take selfies with your favorites. It’s a lot of fun for me as well as my children and grandchildren. When you get home you can put all of your pictures in a photo book to keep the memories alive. Share them with your little one and start planning your next adventure!
