I know that everyone is super pumped about the release of Finding Dory. Have you already seen it? With all of the excitement surrounding the new release, what better way to get prepared for Finding Dory, than to put together a fun Finding Nemo family movie night? For this particular night, we actually watched Shark Tale because the kids hadn’t seen it yet, but you can totally use the same menu for a Finding Nemo movie night!!
Every week for our Family Movie Night, I make a little sign that includes what we’ll be having for dinner, sometimes it’s a printable version, and sometimes it’s on a chalkboard. For this particular night, it was the printable variety. I occasionally try to send it to the hubby in an email so he will know what we’re having for dinner.
The food was pretty simple. It took a little more than 20 minutes to put everything together. I am not a lover of seafood, and I wasn’t sure if my kids were either, so we went with a simple fish stick. It turns out that if you put enough ketchup on fish, you can actually remove the fish taste. HA!
We had “fish & chips” which were Gortons Tilapia fish sticks and crinkle cut fries. The fries were my favorite part of the meal. I might have a slight addiction when it comes to anything in potato form.
I served the popcorn in these cute little cones. I found the idea HERE. I just googled whale art, and found this little cute guy. I used publisher and put the whale in the upper right hand corner of the page, tilted him a bit, printed, and rolled the paper into a cone shape. Easy Peasy:o)
For dessert, I purchased blue jello cups. You can find these in the refrigerated section in your grocery store. I used a little bit of whipped cream for the “foamy wave effect” and added a little red gummy fish in each bowl. It can’t get any easier than that folks;o)
This meal was so easy to put together, and would especially be great for families who have little ones. I want to encourage you all to start taking time out every week to spend with your families. This took less time and preparation than most meals, and it’s definitely more memorable!
